Day 1 - December 22

En Route to Australia

We will depart from Los Angeles for our transpacific flight. Please see your flight information sheet for flight details.


Day 2 - December 23

Cross the International Date Line and lose a day!

Day 3 - December 24

Welcome to Sydney, Australia!

Welcome to Sydney! Upon arrival we will be met and assisted through customs. We will be transferred by luxury coach to the deluxe Four Seasons Hotel, one of Sydney’s finest hotels, that offers spectacular views of the city harbor. Your rooms will have been pre-registered and you will be able to check into your rooms upon arrival. You will have time to unpack and relax. (Enjoy breakfast and lunch on own). In the afternoon, we will have an orientation at the hotel. After orientation we will board our bus for a panoramic tour of Sydney. We will concentrate on Sydney’s northern beach areas. We will cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge and travel to see magnificent views from Seaforth Lookout over Middle Head and Pedal Bay Marinas, visiting Arabanoo Lookout for a superb panorama of the rugged Headlands and Manly. At sundown, we will all join together for Shabbat Services at Central Synagogue in Sydney suburbs followed by a home hospitality Shabbat Dinner. Return to hotel.


Day 4 - December 25

Sydney Harbour Bridge

After an early breakfast, depart the city and travel north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Hunter Valley Wine Region boasting over 80 wineries with some of the latest winemaking and tasting facilities. You will have the chance to stroll through the vineyard and learn about the history of winemaking in Australia as well as the differences in grape varieties. After a short film showing just how wine is actually made right from the grapevine to the bottle, the Cellarmaker will take you through the wine tasting and of course a delicious lunch accompanied by 4 wines to marry with your lunch. Return to the hotel for an evening of leisure.


Day 5 - December 26

Opening Ceremony Maccabi International Games

Early morning training (some competitions begin) or at leisure to enjoy the “Rock’s” famous Sunday Flea Market. In the afternoon, transfer to Olympic Village where we will join other countries from around the world for the majestic Opening Ceremonies of the Maccabi International Games. Some competitions begin. Enjoy dinner with Team USA. Return to your hotel.


Day 6 - December 27

Games Begin! Sydney

You may attend the Games and cheer for Team USA. Shuttle service will be available from the Four Seasons to Sydney’s Olympic Village at designated times (details will be provided at orientation and the hospitality desk). Public transportation (train, bus or ferry) is accessible from the hotel (extra cost). Optional tours will be available at our hospitality desk. In the evening, we will board our floating Glass Pontoon for an evening cruise. Cocktails and dinner will be served while touring the famous Sydney Harbour where you will be able to see much of the city and Sydney’s famous Australian Icons from the water. Return to your hotel.


Day 7 - December 28

Competitions Sydney

Competitions - Same as Day 7 or take an optional tour (details at Hospitality Desk). In the evening, Sydney Dine-A-Round. Enjoy dinner at one of Sydney’s wonderful restaurants (details will be available at hospitality desk). Return to hotel.


Day 8 - December 29

Sydney

Competitions - Same as Day 7 or take an optional tour (details at Hospitality Desk). Evening is at leisure.


Day 9 - December 30

Sydney

Competitions - Same as Day 7 or take an optional tour (details at Hospitality Desk). Evening – Endowers Dinner (By invitation Only)


Day 10 - December 31

Bondi Beach, Sydney

After breakfast, enjoy a ˝ day interactive walking tour of the famous Bondi Beach a Sydney Icon, popular with locals and visitors alike. End your tour with a fun lunch at one of Bondi Beach’s fun restaurants. Return to your hotel to relax, enjoy the pool and spa (extra cost). In the evening, a surprise New Years Eve bash, Sydney style is waiting. Return to hotel.


Day 11 - January 1

Happy New Year!

Shabbat and Happy New Year. Day and evening is at leisure. Competition for some sports will begin after sundown.


Day 12 – January 2

Competition Finals

Finals in many competitions. Competition ends. Use the balance of the day to enjoy Sydney. In the evening, participate in the Closing Ceremonies. Return to Hotel.


Day 13 – January 3

Depart back to Los Angeles

Early morning departure back to Los Angeles. (arrive same day)
