Christmas Holy Land Tour HighlightsDecember 22, 2011 - January 2, 2012Jerusalem and Bethlehem This historic tour of the Holy Land begins with your arrival in Israel on Friday, December 23, at Ben-Gurion International Airport, where you will be met by a tour representative to escort you to your hotel in Jerusalem. See the panoramic views of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. Stand where our Lord ascended into heaven. Walk to the Garden of Gethsemane. Spend Christmas Eve in Bethlehem at the Church of the Nativity and Shepherds Fields, then return to your hotel in Jerusalem. Enjoy Christmas Day in the Old City of Jerusalem, visiting Saint Stephens’ Gate, the Pool of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Spend time praying at the Western Wall, the only remaining structure left from the majestic Temple built by King Herod over 2,000 years ago, and celebrate Christmas communion at the Garden Tomb. Tiberias and Galilee Depart Jerusalem for a scenic drive to the Dead Sea, Qumran (site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found), Jericho, Qasr El-Yahud (the site of Jesus’ baptism), Kursi (eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee), and Mount Arbel. Enjoy the view of Galilee where Jesus preached during His early ministry. Dinner and overnight will be in Tiberias. Visit Capernaum (the apostle Peter’s home and site of many miracles by Jesus) and the Mount of Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount). Take a serene boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Galilee. Drive to the Golan Heights for a time of prayer for the protection of Israel, then continue to Cana (site of Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding feast), Nazareth (boyhood home of Jesus), and Mount Carmel (where Elijah contested the Baal prophets). Stay overnight in Tiberias. Conclude your tour on December 29 by driving to Zippori (ancient Roman ruins), Megiddo (site of Armageddon), Haifa (Mediterranean port city and Persian Gardens), and Caesarea (Roman theatre and aqueduct) before your farewell celebration dinner. Transfer to Ben-Gurion International Airport for your flight home.
