Day 1

Departure

Today we embark on our spiritual journey to Rome, the Holyland (Israel), and the Motherland (Egypt).

Day 2

Rome

We arrive in Rome, where we are met at the airport, assisted to our deluxe motor coach and transferred to the hotel. We will enjoy a festive dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3

Rome/Tiberias

After a buffet breakfast at the hotel and check out, we begin our sightseeing with a visit to the renowned Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel.

Thereafter we will tour the catacombs along the ancient Appian Way.

In the afternoon, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Tel-Aviv. Upon arrival in Tel-Aviv we board our motor coach and transfer to Tiberias.

Along the way we stop to see King Herod’s great port of Caesarea and its amazing ruins, built when Jesus was a carpenter in Nazareth.

Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 4

Tiberias

After a huge Israeli buffet breakfast, we drive to Mount Carmel, where the prophet Elijah defeated the false priests of Baal.

In the afternoon, we drive inland to Megiddo, mentioned in the Book of Revelations as the site of the Battle of Armageddon.

We proceed to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, and Cana, the site of the first miracle.

We will enjoy a boat ride across the Sea Galilee. Then we drive to Kibbutz Nof Ginosar to learn about the "Ancient Boat," a first century boat recovered from the lake.

We will drive to Capernaum, home St. Peter and visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue.

From there we proceed to Tabgha, the site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes. On to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached Sermon on the Mount.

Our last visit today will be the baptismal site at the Jordan River (Yardenit) for anyone who wants to be baptized.

Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 5

Tiberias/Jerusalem

After breakfast we depart Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee and travel south to the holy city of Jerusalem.

On our way, we pass the Tel of Beth She’an, where the bodies of King Saul and his sons hung from the city gate.

Our motor coach will take us through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the oldest city in the world, where ancient walls have been discovered and where waters from the Spring of Elisha can be seen.

Our next stop will be Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, and the Church of the Nativity.

We will enter Jerusalem on foot like pilgrims, then proceed to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Jerusalem

We start our day at the top of the Mount of Olives, where the Lord ascended into Heaven. We will see olive trees that date back to the time of Christ and enjoy the magnificent views of the Old City.

We will drive past the Church of All Nations and stop to pray at the Garden of Gethsemane.

Then we will visit the Western Wall, the holiest site visited by Jewish people today. We will walk up to the Temple Mount for a look at the Dome of the Rock, where Abraham prepared the sacrifice of his son Isaac.

Then we will walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, through the picturesque bazaars of the Old City, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre at Golgotha. We will stop at the Ethiopian Coptic Church for a special blessing from the Pastor.

We end the day with a visit to Mount Zion and the Room of the Last Supper.

Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 7

Dead Sea/Massada

After breakfast, we drive through the Judean Hills to the lowest spot on earth, the Dead Sea.

We continue to the desert fortress of Massada, the last stronghold of the Jewish zealots in the war against the Romans.

Afterward we return to Jerusalem via Qumran, the site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8

Jerusalem/Cairo

After breakfast we drive to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial.

Then we visit Gordon’s Cavalry and the Garden Tomb, where we will have some time for prayer and meditation.

Our last stop will be the Martin Luther King Memorial, the only one outside of the United States.

After a late lunch, we check out of our hotel and transfer to the airport for our flight to Cairo.

Late arrival in Cairo and transfer to our hotel for overnight.

Day 9

Cairo

After a delicious breakfast we begin our tour of Cairo. We will see the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinos, and their guardian Sphinx, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Then we return to Cairo and visit the world-renowned Egyptian Museum of Antiquities where we will view the treasures of King Tutankhamun. The museum houses more than 160,000 items from the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

Day 10

Cairo

After breakfast we will tour Old Cairo and the Coptic Church where the baby Jesus stayed with his mother.

In the afternoon you will have time to buy some nice souvenirs from Egypt like papyrus, perfumes, leather, and jewelry before we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 11

Return home

Early this morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to the U.S. with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
