Welcome to Israel!

Shalom! Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival into Israel, pass through customs and immigration, collect your baggage, and proceed to the arrivals hall for your transfer to your hotel.

Depending on what time your flight arrives, opt to rest or see a few sights.

Enjoy a visit to Latrun, the site of many famous military battles and now a memorial museum. Or Visit "Mini Israel" park including miniature models of the most important sites and buildings in the country.

Overnight, Tel Aviv.

Tel Aviv

This morning, visit the Palmach Museum to learn about the origins of the Israeli army and the War of Independence. Continue to the 5000 year old port town of Jaffa. Take a short walking tour to a beautiful visa of Tel Aviv.

Afterwards, continue to Independence Hall to see where David Ben Gurion announced the Independence of the State of Israel. Then pay a visit to Rabin Square, large public city square in central Tel Aviv. It is named after Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated there in 1995.

On the way back stop at Nachalat Binyamin, the pedestrian street of the city with musicians, hand made jewelry, and artifacts. On Tuesdays and Fridays the street is home to an exciting crafts fair.

Tel Aviv/Galilee

Depart Tel Aviv and head North. Today you will climb down stairs through Mei Kedem, underground water tunnels at the beginning of the aqueduct that runs to Caesarea. Make sure to wear Crocs and hold on to both sides of the tunnel as you will be stepping over all kinds of rocks and through water which may rise past your knees.

Next see Kfar Kedem where you can ride on one of the friendly donkeys and join the caravan, headed for the hills. Hitch a plow to one of the donkeys and work the land in the style of our forefathers. Finally, put your shoulder to the wheel of an ancient grindstone to prepare the whole-grain flour.

Then heading to Acco- the coastal city served as one of the key ports of Israel over much of its long history. The Canaanites and Phoenicians utilized Accos port, and the city is mentioned in ancient Egyptian records. Walk along the city's old harbor and visit the local market.

Galilee/Golan Jeeps/Safed

This morning board a jeep and travel up the Golan Heights, one of Israel's most beautiful and controversial regions. Discover first-hand the strategic importance of the area as you climb the Heights and "capture" a former Syrian bunker, affording you a bird's-eye view of Israel's expansive Hula Valley below.

Then proceed to the Orthodox community of Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism (kabala), where you will visit the Joseph Caro and Ha' Ari synagogues, the most important synagogues in the city and stroll down the famous Artists quarter.

Overnight, Galilee.

North/Jerusalem

Start your day with a visit to Gan Guru, a place where kangaroos from Australia run free and wild birds fly overtop. Everyone's allowed to pet the kangaroos.

Next stop at Gan Hashlosha (Sachne) where you will have an opportunity to enjoy the water springs located at the foot of the Gilboa Mountain, the famous mountain on which King Saul was killed in the battle against the Philistines.

Then head to Beit Shean, also called "Scythopolis", the biggest archeological park in Israel with beautiful excavations from Roman and Byzantine periods.

From here head to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem-Old City

Tour the old city of Jerusalem. Start with a visit of the tomb of King David on Mt. Zion. Walk along the Cardo, the ancient Roman road; Visit the four Sephardic synagogues restored after 1967 war in the Jewish quarter. Tour the Western Wall Tunnels; Visit the Davidson center and walk through the Roman Cardo, to the local Arab bazaar. Walk through Jaffa gate to David's Tower museum and see the ancient remains of the city beginning with the first Temple period. In the afternoon visit the new Jerusalem Zoo and the Wohl Archeological Center.

Jerusalem-New City

The tour today will include the Time Elevator to learn about Jerusalem's 3000 year history. Depart the hotel and arrive to the Western Wall in the old city of Jerusalem.

Continue to Mea Shearim and learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra orthodox communities. Drive by the Knesset, Israel's parliament and see the Menorah with the biblical emblems.

Next visit the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed, and the new holy land model - a miniature replica of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period.

Overnight, Jerusalem.

Massada/Dead Sea

Drive through the Judean desert to the Dead Sea. Stop at Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Continue to Massada, ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress; visit the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, the bathhouses etc. Descend by cable car. Then stop for lunch and swim (actually float) at the Dead Sea and use the Spa facilities in one of the leading hotels in the area. Return to Jerusalem.

Eilat

Jerusalem/Eilat

Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your internal flight to Eilat. Fly to Eilat. Upon arrival, take a taxi to your hotel (about a 5 minute ride).

Spend the remainder of the day relaxing on the beach!

In the evening we'll transfer to the airport to catch our return flight to the U.S.

Spend the day at leisure.

Opt to lay on the beach, or to explore the underwater ovseratory.

Your guide will assist you through the border to Jordan. Start your tour by walking through the narrow define into the rock-cut city of Petra (The Siq), the most wondrous of all ancient sites, built over 2,000 years ago by the Nabateans where you can see the treasury (Al-Khazneh) then walk through the Romans columns and see the theater. Continue on to visit Qasr El-Bint. Stay a little longer and visit the mysterious High place of Sacrifice (or) the (Monastery), then transfer back to Arava border for departure back to Eilat.

Eilat/Tel Aviv/Enroute

Take a taxi to the airport for your flight back to Tel Aviv. Arrive and check-in for your international flight home.
