Day 1 Enroute Today we depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to Tel Aviv. Overnight, onboard. |

Day 2 Jerusalem After you collect your luggage and pass customs, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Jerusalem. Ascend to Jerusalem via Burma Road. This road was used as a bypass to the main road linking Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that was under constant attack by Arab forces. The Burma Road was desperately needed to get water, food and ammunition to the besiege city of Jerusalem at the time. Plant a tree as a family, in honor of the Bar Mitzvah. When reaching Jerusalem, stop for a moment's reflection and prayer and participate in an age-old tradition of saying the "Shehecheyanu” and the blessing over the wine. Visit the Scrolls of Fire, a monument depicting the history of the Jewish people. The evening will be at your leisure. Overnight, Jerusalem. |

Day 3 Jerusalem Mazal Tov! Today we celebrate the Bar Mitzvah. 10:00 - 10:30 entrance and cold drinks 10:30 - 12:00 Bar Mitzvah ceremony and celebration at either the Great Synagogue or a location very near (there are many synagogues and hotels in this area.) 12:15 - 1:45 Festive lunch and celebration. In the afternoon we’ll have time to relax before the evening reception. Overnight, Jerusalem. |

Day 4 Jerusalem After breakfast, take part in one of a myriad of community service projects to help make your Bar Mitzvah / Bat Mitzvah a more well-rounded and fulfilling experience. Refer to Gil Travel's community service list and Bar Mitzvah / Bat Mitzvah questionnaire to find the best opportunity for you. After a stop for a Falafel, if you wish, return to Jerusalem to the Old City for a memorable visit to the City of David, the Davidson Center and the Burnt House. Overnight, Jerusalem. |

Day 5 Jerusalem After breakfast, enjoy a family outing by participating in an archaeological dig at Beit Guvrin. Then, return to Jerusalem via Latrun to see the I.D.F. Tank Museum. Climb on a tank and speak to instructors on site. Return to Jerusalem for a memorable Visit to Yad Vashem, including the Children’s Pavillion and Museum exhibition. The evening is at your leisure. Overnight, Jerusalem. |

Day 6 Dead Sea / Massada This morning we’ll have an early departure to Massada. After climbing Massada, enjoy some time for lunch and a swim in the Dead Sea. After a relaxing afternoon, we’ll head to our hotel for dinner and overnight. |

Day 7 Eilat After breakfast, we’ll proceed through the Negev to Sde Boker, home of our first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion. If time permits, enjoy a walk at Ein Avdat Natural Reserve. Then, proceed to Mitzpe Ramon, an Alpaca farm, and then on to Eilat. The evening will be at leisure. Overnight, Eilat. |

Day 8 Eilat Today we’ll have an exciting time Scuba Diving in the famous Red Sea by private boat including lunch. After the dive, time permitting, enjoy other activities in Eilat including the underwater observatory and swimming with the dolphins. Overnight, Eilat. |

Day 9 Eilat Today we’ll enjoy a full day excursion to Petra, Jordan. 8:00 am - A transfer from your Eilat hotel to the Arava Border our southern gateway with Jordan. After crossing the border, meet our Jordanian representative who will assist you with passport formalities. Proceed by air-conditioned deluxe vehicle to the lost Nabatean city of Petra (about 2 hour drive). Enter Petra on a Bedouin guided horse, pass through the fabled SIQ, an immense sandstone gorge which opens out to reveal the treasury. Continue on to gaze at ancient temples, royal tombs, Roman theaters, and houses. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Petra. Drive back to the Arava Border. After crossing to Israeli side, meet your driver for transfer back to your hotel. Overnight, Eilat. |

Day 10 Galilee After breakfast, we transfer to Eilat Airport for our flight to Tel Aviv. Then we proceed by car to the north via the coastal route, passing the suburbs of Ramat Aviv and Herzilya. (*Possible stop at Neurim Riding Academy to learn more about the Tikva Project). Then we proceed to the Roman City of Caesarea. From here, we continue north to Zichron Yaacov and its wineries. Next we head to a Druze Village to learn a bit about their culture. We end the day with a drive to your hotel for overnight. |

Day 11 Upper Galilee Today we enjoy a full day tour of the Upper Galilee. We’ll stop at Kibbutz Menara and enjoy the wonderful view, cable car and mountain slide. Then we continue on to mystical Safed, one of Israel’s most orthodox cities. We move on to Ramat Hagolan by jeep, where we will enjoy learning about the 1967 war and how our soldiers captured the Ramah to protect Israeli civilians, then onto a bit of fun kayaking down the Jordan River. Overnight, Galilee. |

Day 12 Galilee After Breakfast, we continue our tour of the Galilee with a visit to Beit Shean, Bet Alpha and its famous Mosaic floor and a refreshing swim at the Sachne. Then we move onto Kfar Kedem, to look at agricultural life as it existed in Biblical times. Afterwards we proceed to Tiberias to enjoy the mystical Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) and its wonderful fish restaurants. Overnight, Tiberias. |

Day 13 Tel Aviv After Breakfast, we descend back to the coast. On the way we’ll visit Rosh Hanikra. From there, the group proceeds to Achziv by speed boat. Then, we continue onto the ancient Phoenician city of Acco. Afterwards we proceed to Haifa, home of Israel’s MIT, the Technion, and the stunning Bahai Temple Gardens. We may also stop in Herzliya for dinner in one of the Marina restaurants. There is also mall if you wish to do a bit of shopping. We then proceed to Tel Aviv for overnight. |

Day 14 Tel Aviv After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of Tel Aviv including Rabin Square and Tel Aviv University. Then we’ll continue onto the new Palmach Museum, where will have an interactive visit to enlighten us about the evolution of the Israeli army. Afterwards, have the rest of the afternoon to ourselves. Consider having lunch in Neve Tzedek, home to the Israeli Dance Center Suzanne Dallal. You might also want to walk around the neighborhood for fun shopping. After lunch, enjoy what most Israelis do on Fridays afternoons – Stroll in Old Tel Aviv’s Nachalat Binyamin (pedestrian street) and Shenkin Street (Tel Aviv Soho) – both great for shopping. Overnight, Tel Aviv. |

Day 15 Tel Aviv The day is at leisure to do last minute packing, shopping, and sight seeing. In the late evening we transfer to Ben Gurion International for our return flight home. Overnight, enroute. |
