Monday WELCOME TO ISRAEL! After going through passport control and collecting your luggage, meet your guide and family educator. Head North to plant a tree at Lavi Forest. Afterwards, get a breathtaking view of the Galilee at Mt. Arbel. Transfer to the kibbutz guesthouse to check in and take a late day swim. Wednesday HALUTZIM: Zippori "Travel back in time" to the Talmudic period as you visit Zippori - one of the main canters of the Sanhedrin. Rabbi Yehuda “Nassi” lived here, and it was here that he compiled the Mishna, around the year 200 CE. The remains date back to before 100BCE, through the Roman and Byzantine periods. Walk through the amazing ancient conduit, which brought water to the city. You will be able to see some of Israel’s most beautiful mosaic floors, one depicting the “Forrest of Dionysus” and another, the "Nile Mosaic" dating back to the Roman period. Safed Arriving in Tzefat (Safed), the center of Jewish mysticism (kabala) you will immediately feel the mystical atmosphere in the air. Tour synagogues, courtyards and its modern artist’s quarter. VATIKIM: Tel Dan This morning we will depart the hotel and drive to Tel Dan and walk through the beautiful nature reserve, one of the sources of the Jordan River. Throughout the centuries the control of this important water source was one of great political significance. View of the Tel, which was the site of the Canaanite City of Laish. It was conquered by the tribe of Dan and subsequently became the tribe’s capital city. Manara Cliff Take a cable car to the top of the world! Enjoy the mountain slide at this gorgeous spot. Thursday HALUTZIM: Travel to Haifa for breathtaking panoramic views followed by: Yemin Orde Special Programming Bet Shearim Bet Shearim has become a popular burial place for Israel. Excavations have uncovered a number of interesting facts and sites. VATIKIM: Atlit Your visit to Atlit will show you how many of our immigrants escaped from the detention camps built by the British. Caesarea Drive along the coast to scenic Casearea, once the Roman capital of the Holy Land. Explore its excavated Roman harbor, amphitheater and Crusader fortress. Mei Kedem Visit a unique archaeological site in the Alon Park of the Mediterranean Forest, Mei Kedem allows you to walk through an ancient tunnel that was part of a water system and still carries water. So a change of clothing may be in order after your guided tour. BEYAHAD: Late afternoon arrival in Jerusalem. Friday Jerusalem Bnai/Bnot Mitzvah Service at Robinson’s Arch HALUTZIM: Davidson Center Stop at Davidson Center, which offers a wonderful audio-visual archaeological introduction to the history of Jerusalem. Here you will learn about the second temple from finds and reports made by archaeologists who dug up the southern wall area. Kotel Visit the Kotel, the only remaining wall left from the destruction of the second temple. Leave a note in the wall for yourself or family and friends or say a few prayers at this sacred part of history. Western Wall Tunnels View the archaeological discoveries excavated in a vast concealed tunnel along the Western Wall. Digging at this site exposed a continuous historical chain wrought in stone, stretching from the Hasmonean era till our time. The Wall, almost 448 meters long, has one stone reaching the weight of close to 570 tons. About 2000 square meters of rooms and public halls were discovered, as well as a section of the Second Temple road, a Hasmonean water tunnel, a pool and many other finds. Jerusalem Quarter Stroll through the restored Jewish Quarter; see how people live in the walls of the Old City today and catch a glimpse into the lives of those from the past. Sunday BEYAHAD Start the day with a breakfast speaker on political issues facing Israel today followed by: Yad Vashem Take part in a special service at the new state of the art Yad Vashem, the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and walk through the "The Valley of the Destroyed Communities" Wall Story. HALUTZIM Har Herzl Situated on a hill on the outskirts of Jerusalem is Israel's National Cemetery where many of the nations founders and leaders are buried. At this site are situated the graves of: Theodore Herzl, Yitzhak Rabin, Golda Meir , Jabotinsky and Hannah Sennesh VATIKIM City of Lines Special Programming. Visit Israel’s security fence today. Tuesday HALUTZIM Start the day with an early ascent up: Massada Early departure for the ascent by cable car to the mountain fortress of Massada for a tour of these Ein Gedi Stop off at the desert oasis of Ein Gedi with its lush greenery and cool waterfalls. You will be able to appreciate the unique and flourishing flora and fauna of this area and you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a few beautiful Ibex and Oryx hiding in the surrounding mountains. Hike deeper into the coolness of this desert oasis to enjoy the rush of a cascading waterfall in all its natural beauty. This is the place where King David hid from King Saul during biblical times. Dead Sea Take an unforgettable dip in the amazing Dead Sea. VATIKIM Start the day with an early departure for Nahal Arugot Take a walk through the breathtaking Nahal Arugot. Nahal Arugot has some lovely desert vistas to view as you walk down the canyon. Thursday BEYAHAD Beit Guvrin - Dig for a Day Visit the underground city of Beit Guvrin built at the time of the Bar Kochva revolt. Participate in a dig for a day, a program guided by a professional archaeologist. Ayalon Institute Visit the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built in the Palmach under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute.
