Yesterday & Today

Monday

Berlin

We will arrive in Germany via Lufthansa flight #170 at 7:40am.

Luggage will be sent to the hotel as we proceed to Berlin East and West Overview including Unter den Linden, Gendermarket, Friedrichstrasse, Check Point Charlie, Walls of Berlin and Potsdamer Platz.

Afterwards, we will have lunch and then proceed to the hotel for check in. Balance of the afternoon is at leisure.

In the evening enjoy a Welcome Dinner at local restaurant.

Tuesday

Berlin

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before starting our day of touring.

We will depart the hotel to take a stroll around Mitte and then enjoy a walk along Hamburger Strasse to view Residential Monument and Mendelssohn’s Grave.

Afterwards, we will stop and visit Oranienburger Strasse Synagogue where will meet Dr. Chana Schuetz.

We will then have lunch at a nearby restaurant followed by a visit to the Baroyshehoff district to view street signs monument replicating the Nuremberg Laws.

In late afternoon we will return to the hotel. Evening: Optional Cultural Performance and dinner on own.

Wednesday

Berlin

After breakfast, depart for Wannsee to visit House of Wannsee Conference where we will tour the Exhibit Halls, "The Wannsee Conference and the Genocide of the European Jews." Here we will also listen to an interesting briefing by Dr. Norbert Kampe, Director, in the Historical Conference Room.

Afterwards we will have lunch at a local restaurant. We will then stop and visit Schloss Cecilienhoff, famous for the Potsdam Conference.

Time permitting; we will visit the Sansui Palace. In late afternoon, we will return to our hotel.

Evening at leisure and dinner on own.

Thursday

Berlin

After breakfast, we will depart for the Jewish Museum. Here we will visit The Garden, The Tower, Kadishman Monument and Exhibit Hall.

After lunch, we will visit the Holocaust Memorial designed by Peter Eisenman and inaugurated in May 2005 near the Brandenburg Gate.

End the day with a visit to the renowned Pergamon Museum.

Late in the afternoon, we will return to our hotel for the evening at leisure and dinner on our own.

Potsdamer Platz

Friday

Berlin

After breakfast, our luggage will be transferred to the Bristol Kempinsky Hotel as we journey to Potsdamer Platz and the Reichstag building.

We will enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant and then visit the Grunewald Jewish neighborhood and the Train Track Monument.

Afterwards, we will return to the hotel to relax and freshen up.

Evening: Services at the synagogue followed by Shabbat Dinner at Gabriel’s Restaurant at the JCC.

Saturday

Berlin

After breakfast at the hotel, you have the option to attend services at the Synagogue or spend the time at leisure.

In the afternoon, we will have our farewell lunch at the Gabriel Restaurant at the JCC.

Balance of your day is at leisure.

Sunday

After breakfast we will transfer to Berlin for our return flight back to the US.
