This is a refurbished phone

You are purchasing this phone and number - not renting the phone.
This means that the phone is yours to keep for any trip you or a friend or family member ever makes to Israel - ever.
Nevertheless, if you choose to return the phone upon your return from Israel, you will receive a $40 refund.

To be eligible for the refund, please make sure the phone is in good condition, no scratches or damage, and in its original packaging including all accessories and manuals.
The phone must be returned (postmarked) within 30 days from the date you received it.
Please be sure to send back the phone with a trackable delivery service to ensure receipt.
Before returning the phone an RMA must be obtained by emailing phones@giltravel.com with phone information.

This is a prepaid phone (there is no SIM card). You will receive your phone charged with 60 minutes free. There are two ways you can recharge your phone:

General Terms for the Purchase and Usage of a Cellular Phone


"JFC" or "Service Provider" – Jerusalem 1st Class Ltd., Co. Number 514152594
"Client" – The purchaser of radio-telephone services as per the general terms herein.
"Unit" – the cellular telephone purchased by Client.

  1. The Transaction – in consideration for the payment made by Client, Client will receive the exclusive and eternal right of usage of the Unit.
  2. The Unit – the unit is operable within Israel only, on the Pelephone network, utilizing CDMA (without a SIM card).
  3. Charging the Unit – the Unit's charging, enabling its usage for the purpose of outgoing phone calls, and SMS and MMS messages, will be on a Pre-Paid basis only, at rates and under the terms set by the Service Provider from time to time.
    Pre-payment in order to charge the Unit can be made by purchasing a pre-paid card with a preset NIS amount and a charging code, or via phone call to the automated service, or via the internet site ("Unit Charging").
    After charging, Client will be entitled to outgoing calls and cellular radio-telephone services through the Unit up to the amount charged and in accordance with the rates set by the Service Provider from time to time.
    The right to prepaid outgoing calls shall expire by the end of a certain period beginning on the date of the prepayment, as shall be set upon the Unit Charging, and Client shall not be entitled to any reimbursement for amounts outstanding.
    The manner of the Unit Charging may be modified at the discretion of the Service Provider.
  4. Unit Guarantee – the Unit is refurbished. Client is hereby guaranteed for the proper functioning of the Unit (technical malfunctions as a result of reasonable usage only) for a period of 12 months, excluding any liability for water damages, fractures or loss. Guaranteed malfunctions shall be serviced at the Pelephone service centers, in accordance with the then effective terms of service of Pelephone, for free.
  5. Maintenance Service – maintenance and servicing that are excluded from the Unit Guarantee shall be provided at the Pelephone service centers, in accordance the then effective terms of service and rates of Pelephone.
  6. Customer Service – customer service shall be provided by JFC via an internet site and call center during working days and working hours as are customary in Israel.
  7. Returns and Cancellation – a non-malfunctioning Unit may not be returned and the transaction may not be cancelled.
    A malfunctioning Unit may not be returned unless the malfunction is such that it is covered by the manufacturer's guarantee and the malfunction is not serviceable.
    In such an event Client will be entitle to substitute Unit of the same model, or a model as similar as possible.
    The foregoing shall not apply in the event Client has an explicit right to cancel the transaction or return the Unit by law.
  8. Consent to Commercial Advertising via the Unit – as an integral part of the terms of the transaction, Client hereby consents to receive commercial advertising material via the Unit and via e-mail. Client's explicit consent is hereby given evidence by his execution of this Agreement. It is hereby clarified that the consideration paid by Client reflects a discount given specifically vis-a-vis the foregoing consent.
    Revocation of consent will be made possible by returning an SMS or e-mail, subject to the return of the unit to the Service Provider.
  9. No Contractual Relationship with Pelephone – hereby clarified that Client has no contractual relationship with Pelephone, and the full responsibility for the undertakings contained herein is upon JFC alone. The Unit is registered with Pelephone in the name of JFC and such registration may not be assigned to Client or any other third party.
    Any servicing and maintenance of the Unit (including under the Unit Guarantee) as per this Agreement shall be in accordance with the then effective terms and conditions applied by Pelephone.
    Pelephone and / or the service provider is authorized to cancel a prepaid card and/or prevent any services via the Unit in the event there is suspicion of inappropriate usage or fraud of any sort with respect to the card and/or Unit. Without derogating from the above, it us hereby clarified that JFC and/or the manufacturer of the Unit shall be solely liable for the device of the Unit and/or for the cellular radio-telephone services through the Unit and/or anything bound with them.
  10. Waiver – Client is exclusively responsible for any content and data existing in the Unit and/or broadcasted by the Unit including SMS, MMS or any other form of broadcasting, both with respect to saving and backing up content and data, as well as with respect to infringement upon any privacy interests or security interests which may result from the usage or saving of such content. Unless otherwise is provided by any applicable law, JFC shall bear no liability for damages of any sort, including indirect or consequential damages, which may be caused to Client and/or anyone in his behalf, as a result of any malfunction of the Unit and/or any disruption of the provision of services and/or the servicing, maintenance and customer services work hours and/or the speed of JFC's response to Client's call and/or for any other reason, except for direct personal damages or direct damages to property caused by JFC only, intentionally or out of negligence and only to the limit of an amount of up to $100.
  11. Choice of Law and Jurisdiction – This Agreement and any matter arising or related to this Agreement, directly or indirectly, shall be subject to the Laws of Israel only and the jurisdiction to adjudicate any such matter shall be exclusively vested in the competent court in Jerusalem.
  12. Assignment and Transfer – JFC is entitled to assign or transfer its rights and/or undertakings, entirely or partially, according to this Agreement, to any third party at its sole and exclusive discretion, provided that Client's rights shall not be adversely affected.

What is Jerusalem First Class?
Jerusalem First Class (JFC) is a cell phone service provider in Israel.  JFC has agreed to provide service for Gil Travel phones for our clients.
We have chosen to partner with JFC due to their high level of customer service, high quality of phone service, and very competitive rates.

What is a Gil Travel phone?
A Gil Travel phone is a cellular phone that is available to buy at low cost for visitors to Israel.

What is unique about a Gil Travel phone?
A Gil Travel phone is unique for many reasons, including:
* The phone is owned by the customer
* The phone number belongs to the customer
* There are no rental fees or hidden costs
* The customer controls his or her spending
* The calls are charged per-second and not per-minute
* The customer has no obligations
* The Gil Travel phone comes loaded with 60 free minutes

• What model phones are available?
All of our phones are 3G phones. From time to time Gil Travel will change the model offered.  The current model is a Motorola K1. Click here for details

• Can I use a SIM card in a phone I brought from home?
Our phones work on the CDMA system which means that we do not use SIM cards.

• What is the monthly rental fee?
Our phones are yours to keep. As such, there are no rental fees.

• Why do I need to pay a deposit for a Gil Travel phone?
Although the phone is yours to keep, some of our clients are not frequent Israel travelers.  As such, they may wish to return the phone, in which case the deposit is fully refundable if returned in good condition. To be eligible for the refund, please make sure the phone is in good condition, no scratches or damage, and in its original packaging including all accessories and manuals.
The phone must be returned (postmarked) within 30 days from the date you received it.
Please be sure to send back the phone with a trackable delivery service to ensure receipt.

• Where can I receive my phone?
Your phone will be sent to the address you enter at checkout.

• Where in Israel will my Gil Travel phone work?
Your Gil Travel phone will work throughout Israel, including the West Bank.

• Can I use my Gil Travel phone outside of Israel?
Your Gil Travel phone will not work outside of Israel.



Accessories

• What accessories are available for purchase with my Gil Travel phone?
At this point Gil Travel is not offering accessories. However, all Gil Travel phones are fully compatible with most standard cell phone accessories.  You may use your existing BT headset with your phone.

Pricing

• What are the rates?
The rates take into account the 10% bonus you receive when loading your phone.
Calls to other Gil Travel phones – NIS 0.301 (7.75 cent Approximately).
Within Israel NIS 0.505 (13 cent Approximately) per minute to all providers (050,052,054,02,077).
USA &CANADA - 0.502 n/s (13 cent Approximately) per minute (land line-mobile),
England France,Germany-0.502 n/s (13 cent Approximately) per minute (land line).

• What are the rates for incoming calls?
All incoming calls are free to your Gil Travel phone.

• How are calls charged?
Calls made on your Gil Travel phone are charged by the second. This means that you only pay for what you speak.
For example, if you speak for 30 seconds you will only be charged for 30 seconds, and not for 1 minute.


Insurance

For equipment purchases, warranties shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the
manufacturer and/or the distributor.
The warranty is for one year covers all repairs as long as the phone is reparable. If the phone is damaged.
Beyond repair, lost or stolen, for you will be charged a subsidized cost $50 to replace the phone.
For any other claim to replace the phone you will be charged the amount of $100 for the replacement of the device.

• Does my phone come with insurance?
Your phone comes with a 1 year guarantee only against a defective product which is the result of faulty workmanship.

How can I add credit to my Gil Travel phone?
This is a prepaid phone.  You will receive your phone charged with 60 minutes free.  There are two ways you can recharge your phone:

• Can I receive a refund on unused credit?
Unfortunately a refund on unused credit is not available.

• Does the credit on my Gil Travel phone ever expire?
The credit on your Gil Travel phone will expire 1 year after being loaded onto your phone.

• Where can I receive information on my phone usage?

• How can I check the remaining credit available on my Gil Travel phone?
In order to check the amount of remaining credit on your Gil Travel phone please call *998 from your Gil Travel phone.

Lost/Stolen/Broken Phone

• What do I do if my Gil Travel phone is lost or stolen?
If your Gil Travel phone is lost or stolen please contact us at (02) 624-2000 or by clicking here.

• If lost, can I retrieve the information that I had stored on my Gil Travel phone (phonebook/pictures/etc)?
Unfortunately, there is no possibility of retrieving information that you had stored in your Gil Travel phone.

• Can my new Gil Travel phone be credited with unused credit from my old phone?
Unfortunately, your new Gil Travel phone cannot be credited with unused credit from your old phone.
