Itinerary: Croatia & Slovenia

Day 1: Saturday

Dubrovnik

Welcome to Dubrovnik, Croatia! After clearing customs you will be met by our local representative either in the customs hall, at the first exit outside the customs area, or at the luggage claim area. Any claims for lost / stolen baggage should be made to the airline representative at the airport. Our representative will show you to your transportation. You will be transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner.(D)

 

Day 2: Sunday

Dubrovnik

Morning walking tour of old Dubrovnik. Visit the Franciscan Monastery, St. Laurence Fortress, the Sponza and Rectors Palaces and other points of interest in this beautifully preserved European walled city. Rest of the day is at leisure. (B)

 

Day 3: Monday

Dubrovnik-Split

Depart Dubrovnik; drive north along the spectacular Adriatic coast past old fishing villages. Arrive in Split; afternoon sightseeing highlights this city's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, and contemporary attractions. (B,D)

 

Day 4: Tuesday

Split/Trogir/Plitvice Lakes

Drive north along the coast to Trogir, center of artistic activities. Arrive in Plitvice Lakes; walking tour of the lower lakes. Remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. (B,D)

 

Day 5: Wednesday

Plitvice Lakes-Bled

Drive along the coastal road to the Bay of Kvarner; see the popular resort of Opatija. Then, continue north to Postojna, home of the largest caves in Europe; tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterwards, continue to Bled, situated in the Julian Alps. (B,D)

 

Day 6: Thursday

Bled

Morning sightseeing of this lake resort features the town with its lovely lakeshore and Bled Castle, perched on a cliff. Afternoon at leisure. You may wish to visit the old church with a collection of religious art located on an island in the middle of the lake. (B)

 

Day 7: Friday

Bled-Ljublijana-Zagreb

Travel to Ljubljana; visit the open-air market, City Hall, the Three Bridges and the Parliament in this capital city of Slovenia. On to Zagreb, capital city of Croatia. (B,D)

 

Day 8: Saturday

Zagreb

Morning city tour features the historic Upper Town; see St. Mark's Church, St. Catherine's Church, the Cathedral, Parliament and the Government Palace. Remainder of the day at leisure to explore the winding streets of the Old Town, or, take an optional excursion with dinner into the surrounding countryside. (B)

 

Day 9: Sunday

Enroute

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
