*VISA REQUIRED FOR RUSSIA| Day 1: Saturday Moscow Welcome to Moscow, the capital of Russia! After clearing customs you will be met by our local representative at the first exit outside the customs area, or at the luggage claim area. Any claims for lost/stolen baggage should be made to the airline representative at the airport. Our representative will show you to your transportation. After check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax. (D) |

Day 2: Sunday Moscow Moscow is the symbolic heart and soul of the country. Your sightseeing tour begins at Red Square, dominated by St. Basil's Cathedral and the massive red walls of the Kremlin. Inside the Kremlin, admire the medieval towers, cathedrals and palaces. Visit the Armory Museum and see Moscow University and the popular Arbat shopping district. Continue with a drive along the wide boulevards, view the Olympic Stadium and Tverskaya Street, and stroll through GUM, Russia's largest department store. The rest of the day is at leisure or you may want to take an optional evening tour of the Moscow Subway and Red Square. (B) |

Day 3: Monday Moscow - Novgorod After an early breakfast, depart for Tver, an ancient trading port nestled against the banks of the River Volga. The city offers fascinating treasures, including Putevoy Dvorets, built for Catherine II as a resting place on her journeys from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Enjoy a short sightseeing tour of this remarkable city. End the day in Novgorod, founded 1150 years ago. (B, D) |

Day 4: Tuesday Novgorod-St. Petersburg A morning sightseeing tour of Novgorod starts at the Kremlin with a visit to St. Sophia Cathedral. Cross the river via pedestrian bridge to visit Yaroslav's Court. After sightseeing we continue our tour to St. Petersburg, former capital of the Romanov Czars, where we'll pay a visit to Peter and Paul Fortress, which houses the crypt of the Russian emperors and St. Isaac's Cathedral, before we check in the hotel. After dinner, you may want to join an optional river cruise. (B, D) |

Day 5: Wednesday St. Petersburg There are not many cities in the world that can match the grace of St. Petersburg. When Peter the Great founded the city in 1703, he hired Europe's best architects, craftsmen and artists to build and decorate it. Spread over 100 islands and linked by over 600 bridges, it is often referred to as the "Venice of the North." This morning visit its highlight: the famous Hermitage, which houses many treasures from the Czarist era. In the afternoon, you might want to join us for an excursion to Petrodvorets, to visit Peterhof Palace. Optional Russian Folklore show will be available in the evening. (B) |
