Ten active synagogues, served by permanent rabbis in Athens, Thessalonica, and Larissa, cater to the religious needs of the community. Jewish elementary schools in major cities teach Jewish languages and history alongside the standard Greek curriculum, ensuring the preservation of Jewish heritage and traditions.

By the 15th and 16th centuries, Thessaloniki had become a significant center of Jewish life in Europe, attracting Jewish immigrants from various regions.
